Keep Keeping Fund

For the gentle pursuit of your practice; to support your creative development in any way you see fit.

Keeping Fund, four bursaries of £300 to support the self-directed development or works in progress of Midlands based artists, musicians, creative producers, curators, designers and anything in between. We are particularly interested in hearing from you if:

You create work you love but you typically don’t have the capacity or financial means to create as much as you would like.

You are always quietly creating but you don’t have the experience or networks to be the recipient of larger funds.

You have had a project in mind for a long time but your “regular job” left you with little energy to get it off the ground.

We hope this fund will contribute to the gentle pursuit of your practice. We would like you to document the process through an online journal and should you need anyone to talk through your work with, we’re on hand for virtual 1-2-1’s.

Lastly, if you feel you could make this £300 elsewhere, maybe this isn’t for you. Please pass this on to someone who may need it more, we need to support each other as much as we can at this time.

Deadline: Sat 30th May 2020, 12pm

MAIA Commission

Commissioning 2 new works that respond to the theme of joy. All artists, working in any medium welcome to apply.

This current pandemic has helped us reevaluate where we find joy in life. By taking things away we realise what is / isn’t important to us. How do we measure joy, and is this important to do?

As an arts organisation, ‘joy’ is one of our metrics of impact, it is seen as an indicator of how successful our role is in the community.

MAIA is therefore looking for two artists that would like to respond to this theme, ‘joy’.

All artists working in any medium are welcome to apply. Work can be produced from June to December 2020, however the production and presentation of the work must adhere to government instructions of social distancing if still in place.

Who can apply: This project is open for any artists working in any media.

What: Fee of £500 each.

When: Activity taking place up until 31st December 2020.

Deadline for applications: Sat 30th May 2020, 12pm

Please contact us by email at slg@maiagroup.co
