Introducing Well-being SZN
We are delighted to announce our next body of work
MAIA’s work has been focused on addressing the conditions that affect capacity and practice, with the main aim always to support and nurture the artist. We have delved deeper into those issues over the last 7 years, to better understand what creatives and citizens need in order to thrive.
In light of a difficult and uncertain year, we have placed our focus on the reparative needs of our artistic community and beyond.
Self-care is truly an art, that we need to practice daily going into the 'new normal'.
Today we’re excited to announce our next body of work, Well-being SZN, funded by National Lottery Community Fund.
From September to December, we've joined forces with some amazing organisations, facilitators and familiar faces. Together we have curated a program of FREE or 'Pay As You Feel' workshops, discussions, cooking experiences and resources to invest in the well-being of our community. Divided into four important strands:
Healing Self, Healing Together, Healing the Yutes, Healing Resources
Healing Self
Healing during this time can be a difficult topic to hone in on and understand. We have brought together a selection of personal and group coaching sessions, health-focused initiatives and financial tips to help re-establish your development, inner power and control.
Healing Together
Lockdown has made it more difficult to tap into our support circles. Our journeys now feel more isolated than ever before. Join us for a selection of open discussions, holistic practices and creative workshops. In a safe space of joint empowerment, we hope to find joy together once more.
Healing the Yutes
We know that this period has been particularly tough on the youth and on those around them. Wellbeing SZN brings back 'Saturday School' settings; amplifying black heritage education, community kitchen hook ups and some priceless insight from the best in the business.
Healing Resources
Health and well-being is a condition that is essential to us all and in order to continue to be able to function in our industries. Wellbeing SZN touches on the importance of self-care and will not be the end to our focus on it
The legacy of this SZN will provide resources such as; self-help online content, micro bursaries and free therapy sessions. Keep an eye out for announcements.
